Missing pieces? Mangled pieces? Broken pieces? Bad cuts?

First of all, I have been seeing many puzzle posts online and I love that! Thank you for sharing! I hope you are having fun! (I am already dreaming of printing more...)


However, I can confidently say that the care that was put into the samples I received, wasn't totally there with the mass-produced puzzles. 😰


With my other items (pins, bags, mousepads), I can visually see if there is an issue and set aside B-grades or misprints. With puzzles, I can only check on the quality of the boxes (I did have a few crushed boxes), and as much as I would like to be *a crazy person* and open up each puzzle, inspect the pieces and reshrinkwrap the box...  even that wouldn't allow me to catch all potential issues.

Issues:

Here are the issues I have seen so far:

 Pieces are not cut all the way through:

Maybe the white paper on the back is the culprit - maybe the pieces are too thick for their machines - either way, I will have to figure out this problem if I want to use the same manu in the future.

Now it's not uncommon to have to pull apart some pieces in your puzzle, but it sounds like this is happening way too often with more pieces than I would have hoped for.


Some are bad enough to need a knife/ end up ripping the pieces (this sucks!).  This sounds like it was a common problem, so hopefully this issue didn't ruin your puzzle experience.

(I did replace one whole puzzle because their set had a ridiculous amount of uncut pieces😑)

Broken pieces/ mangled pieces:

I'm really hoping that this isn't a common issue.

This is probably a direct result of pieces not being cut all the way through and getting torn up during the disassembly or shipping process.


If you have bad/ broken pieces or your puzzle is missing pieces,  (and you want them replaced) please reach out for free replacement pieces.

 I will need a photo of your completed puzzle with "holes" where the replacement pieces need to go. (Photos of the bad pieces are also helpful so I can document the problems to bring up with my manu)

Here are some examples of puzzles I already did replacements for.

Basically, I am opening up one of the damaged box sets and finding the same exact piece, and sending it to you in the mail. 


(If you have a very bad set with a lot of damage, I may choose to send you a whole replacement puzzle. *Note* You will need to hold on to your box, because I will send just a bag of pieces)

Bad cuts:

I've only seen this for two sets so far but this is really awful and makes me very upset. 

What this means is that one of the blades was out of alignment and you have a whole row of poorly cut pieces (Pieces have a too thin edge/ are missing corners on one side.)


If you have this issue I will replace your puzzle. Send me an email with photos. 

*Note* You will need to hold on to your box, because I will send you just a bag of pieces (which will also allow me to check that your replacement doesn't have big issues too).

❤️I've gotten all orders sent out! Yay!❤️


🧩All Canadian and US orders have tracking (yay) and many of you have already received your puzzles. I love seeing your social media posts. I hope you are liking the puzzles!!


🧩International backers: Depending on the country, international orders may or may not have a tracking number. Also if you ordered 3 puzzles they will be sent out in 2 boxes. I have no idea how long it will take for the puzzles to arrive - be aware it could take up to a few months.


❤️ I am off until Sept 1 for a much-needed vacation, but I will still be around to answer questions. 


🧩If you are one of the couple backers that had credit card errors, or have yet to fill out your survey (check your messages- I definitely messaged you), your puzzles will ship when I get back in September.

Yay! They are finally here!!! I am so excited to send you all your puzzles!!!❤️

I'm glad I got a storage unit for this because WOW that's a lot of boxes!

What's next:

  • Final notice for changes to Backerkit surveys (orders will be locked in 48 hours).  If you need to change your mailing address/ CC info or your add-ons, you have this little window to make adjustments. (you should get an email from Backerkit - but feel free to message me if you need help or your link)
  • Collecting payment for shipping/ add-ons. Your credit cards on Backerkit will be charged shortly after locking orders. Once I have payment I will be able to start shipping!
  • Packing up Local Pickup orders!

-Canadian and US: orders are still on track to arrive in August. 

-UK and EU: there are new VAT rules that just got implemented on July 1, that I am trying my best to figure out. 

-International friends: I will be getting your orders in the mail system in August (but depending on the postal service, they might be showing up in September/October)

Thank you so much to those who completed their Backerkit surveys! There are still around 10 people who haven't yet filled out the survey so if you are having trouble or didn't get the Backerkit email(s), please message me and I can help you out.


As soon as the puzzles arrive, I will be putting up the 48-hour notice for locking in orders and charging cards. (Noone's cards have been charged for shipping yet). Speaking of puzzles arriving...


Puzzles should be here any day now. As far as I am aware, my boxes are in the Vancouver port waiting to be cleared by customs. Due to COVID, everything is VERY backed up there. I have no clue how long it will be, but the expected arrival is around now


In the meantime, I am getting all my add-ons together, prepping shipping supplies, and learning about new VAT rules (for my EU and UK backers).
